I am back and ready to share about my Christmas vacation in the South. The first 4 days were spent in a place that is dear to my heart. Probably to this day feels like the most familiar place to me. Fairhope Alabama! I went down with my parents because my dad did a wedding for a really close family friend on the 23rd. I actually did not take any pictures at the wedding, but definitely captured a few throughout the week.
The weather was dreary, but I still love the beauty of this city and the familiarity of where I grew up.
And of course I got to spend time with some great friends. Laura and I got to hang out quite a bit and it felt so great. We have known each other since we were babies and were inseparable growing up. Often when we weren't together people would come up to one of us and ask where the other was. The Lord has taken us down different paths and we haven't gotten to spend much time together since both going off to college and becoming adults, but it's always so sweet to connect. And you might not be able to tell from this picture, but she is pregnant!! Yay so excited for her! I made a scrapbook for her when she went off to college of our years together. I remember at the end writing a letter to her in the book saying that I hope one day we will both have children that will play together. Oh I still pray that the Lord would do that. Her parents and my dad grew up together and then we grew up together, so how fun would it be for our kids to get to play together!
Lunch with Jennifer and her kids. She was my bible study leader in high school as well as one of my high school teachers! so fun to reconnect
Christmas Eve Dinner with the Barnes. I did not get great pictures of everyone so these are just a few that I took that night.
I will be back with part 2 soon.
