Shower Time...

Caroline in my fellowship group is having a baby next month, so a baby shower was a must!  Since baby Charlotte did not have any books yet, we decided to throw a book shower with all our favorite books.  This is Caroline with the book I gave her, "Good Night New York City"  I love it! We had a great time celebrating with her!

Welcome to the shower...

Do you see the white coffee table in the picture below?  I can't remember if I blogged about this or not, but I was in the market for a coffee table, but did not want to spend much money.  Well, one day I was running on the tread mill at my gym when I looked out the window and saw a man standing on the side of the street with a couple pieces of furniture.  I ran over there and he was trying to get rid of some really cute white furniture.  I couldn't take it all, but I got this coffee table, which I love!  I painted it "antique white" and it makes the perfect table for my living room!  It is really cute and girly.  I hope that one day I will get to use it as a tea party table for a little girl!

My fellowship group (minus a couple people)

Congratulations Caroline!

For the shower I made an AWESOME punch, so I thought I would share the recipe

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 cups cranberry juice cocktail
  • 4 cups pineapple juice
  • 2 Tablespoons almond flavoring

  • Mix ingredients together and freeze overnight
  • Take out of freezer a few hours before serving (so it will be slushy)
  • Pour 2 liters of Ginger Ale over it before serving (I used Diet Ginger Ale)

My friend Kaye gave me the recipe (thanks Kaye!) and somehow I managed to not mess it up.  For those of you who don't know...I am TERRIBLE in the kitchen.  And I am not exaggerating.  i mess everything up and when I say everything I mean everything!  I was so shocked when this actually tasted good.  My problem is that I don't measure anything...whoops.  I am learning though and this was great!  You should try it...
