Alabama Conquered NYC in Pictures...

So I am in the Hamptons, but I thought I might as well go ahead and post some pics from my time with the fam.  These are all from Day 1, but I will post the rest soon.

We started the weekend off by visiting Ground Zero.  It is more of a construction site than a memorial, but when the new building and memorial are done it is going to be beautiful!
We stopped in at St. Pauls which is directly across from where the twin towers stood.  They opened the church for volunteers and workers and provided meals, beds, medical care, etc 24/7 during the clean-up.  Now the church is an incredible place of remembrance of 911.  Below is a small portion of a big pile of fire badges from all the different Fire Departments that sent men and women to help.  You can see some of the cities that are represented.  I would highly recommend visiting St. Pauls if you are in the area
Statue of Liberty was up next.  This is not a very close(or good) picture, but don't worry Lady Liberty was as pretty as ever!
The New York Stock Exchange stands tall and proud
After walking the whole financial District we were starved, so we opted for true New York Pizza at Grimaldi's under the Brooklyn Bridge
And of course we had to get ice cream from the Brooklyn Ice Cream, also under the bridge
By this point we were so stuffed that we needed to walk across the bridge to walk the food off! It was a little cloudy but beautiful as usual.  There is nothing like walking across the bridge from Brooklyn and seeing the whole Manhattan sky line.
It was a great first day!
