It was a beautiful 4th of July weekend in New York City. Even though it was super hot, I managed to spend almost the whole weekend outside. On Friday I met up with a few girls from my Fellowship Group in Sheeps Meadow at Central Park. This is definitely the Manhattanite's beautiful afternoon hangout spot. We relaxed on a blanket and celebrated Catherine's birthday with Levaine Bakery cookies(a must have if you visit the city)

On Saturday I "dragged" a few girls on a quick ferry ride to spend the day at Govenor's Island.
Looking out over the Statue of Liberty on Independence weekend wasn't too shabby.
It was an incredibly restful afternoon with a picnic in the shade, chatting, swinging, bike riding, and frisbee
After playing this frisbee game twice in FAO Swartz I finally broke down and bought it! And I am so glad I did. It is basically 2 "trampoline" frisbees that comes with a ball that you hit back and forth. I highly recommend it for fun afternoons in the park and on the beach.

I really love to be outside. It rejuvenates my soul and gives me rest. I am so thankful for summer days where I can be outside and enjoy God's Creation....even if it is one HOT summer!
I am also thankful for ice cream which I am completely obsessed with this summer! "Thank you Mr. Softee for parking your trucks all over the streets of Manhattan!"
