While my mom was here to help with VBS we also did some other fun stuff. We met up with a few of my friends at "movie on the hudson". We got to watch the movie Julia and Julia as the sun set over the hudson river.
As a thank you for coming gift, I surprised her with tickets to the Broadway show WICKED. It has been her dream to see it, so I thought this trip was the time. If you have not seen this show, you NEED too! It is amazing! This was my 2nd time to see it, but I would love to see it again.....it's just that good!
Another fun treat was that the movie "Premium Rush" was being filmed on my block while my mom was here. Actually a good portion of the movie is being filmed in my neighborhood. They specifically took over my block one day and we got to watch them shoot some scenes. The Hair and Make-up dressing rooms were literally outside my apt door.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt, pictured below, plays a bike messenger who is chased by a dirty cop. I don't think the movie premieres until 2012, but it will be so fun to watch!
It was so fun to have my mom here for an entire week. I am thankful that she was willing to live "city life"(aka: lots of walking, public transportation, tiny living space, expensive food) for a week to spend time with me.
