To South Africa I go...

A little over 2 years ago my friend Amy and I started a fellowship group in my tiny Manhattan apt.  Maggie was one of the girls who came to our first group.  When she walked in dressed super cute and layered in a confidence that was new to me in my first months in the city, I was a bit intimidated and not sure if me and this girl would ever have anything in common.  As the months when on and Maggie came diligently to this fellowship group I saw a different person than the one that I imagined in my head on that first meeting.  We slowly became friends and bonded over our mutual love for lazy afternoons in Central Park.  Maggie went through a lot in the first year I knew her and I watched the Lord move in her heart in incredibly powerful ways. As summer came, Maggie begin talking to me about this "really cute South African boy"  that she had met through her triathlon team. It wasn't long before the two were dating and then almost a year after were engaged!  I had the privilege to walk with Maggie through her dating and engagement to Mike and see the Lord draw them each closer to Himself as He drew them together.  Now in less than one week the two will become one as they marry in the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa
After seeing their relationship from the beginning I am so thankful and excited to be flying across world tonight to be there with them as they say "I Do"  I can't wait to spend  8 days visiting Cape Town and bringing in the New Year with the happy couple!
I am so thankful for Maggie and her sweet friendship to me over the last 2 years.
