Very Very Soon....

Work has been so crazy busy
and you can see in these pictures why I would say this.
For months and months I have been working on designing out Children's classroms and ordering lots and lots of furniture and supplies.
It is almost all here now and soon the doors will be open
Building a church is a big deal anywhere, but in NYC well I don't even know how to describe what a big deal it is.  Having YOUR OWN space in this city is almost non existent. Yet in the Lord's great mercy, he has allowed Redeemer to raise the millions of dollars needed to build our very own ministry space!

And very very soon these pews will be filled with people.  People who are here to learn about our great God.  I can't help but think of the words to the Shane and Shane song, "You said ask and I'll give the nations to you Oh Lord, thats the cry of my heart".  I first wanted to move to the city when I heard a Tim keller sermon while in Africa.  He talked about the nations being reached through the cities and I knew then I wanted to move to the city and be an ambassador for him.  I could never have guessed then how the Lord would use me here in this city, but what a priviledge it is to play a role in the building of Redeemer's very first ministry space.
Very very soon these classrooms will be filled with little people eager to come to church and learn about the Lord
Very very soon these halls will be filled the footsteps of children and parents coming to church.
Very very soon these walls will be filled with paintings of the city and pictures of some of the beautiful faces that live in this city.  (must give a little shout-out to my boss and co-worker Tracy and Amy for posing for me.  I was actually trying to get pictures more for measurement purposes to give to an artist who will be painting for us)

And very very soon the doors of this church on West 83rd Street will be open for broken and needy hearts who so desperately need the Gospel of Christ.
I did not know what I was getting in to when I took on the task of getting so many classrooms furnished and ready for our children in this new building. It has been a long, tiring, and complicated process with many many decision. But I can honestly say I really have enjoyed it.  I feel like I am gaining loads of experience that will go with me in the years to come.  I am growing as a person and an employee through this process and  really learning so so much.  This next month will probably be the busiest work month for me that I have ever experineced as we get ready for our March 4th opening date, but when those doors open and the sounds of little and big feet fill the floors I really think it will be so incrdibly rewarding.

To God Be the Glory

Wow, the building looks great. I am so incredibly proud of you. I know you have been stretched in ways you couldn't even imagine - but I am reminded of our Isaiah 42 verse - "I will lead the blind in ways they have not known......" -you can say that every day about this whole process. The classrooms are going to be amazing. I am praying for you constantly.
