For the first time in the 4 years I have lived in New York City my whole family came to visit me last weekend! We have had it planned for awhile and now it is over. It's funny how something you think about for so long can be over in such a short time. It was a great few days indeed.
I promise I will post pictures soon. Between 3 cameras and 4 iphones you can believe there were a ton of pictures taken.
For now I'll give you a brief recap.
Wednesday: Family arrives, dinner at Shake Shak, and sunset cruise around the Hudson River (passing by the Statue of Liberty and seeing the city skyline).
Thursday: Breakfast at Alice's Tea Cup, Walk through UWS, show the family my apt, afternoon at the Natural History Musuem (minus me who had a work meeting), and dinner at home (well the apt where we were staying) with a bunch of my friends! I wanted MB to meet all the people who had prayed for her and who saw her picture all the time from me:-)
Friday: Walk through Central Park, Lunch at Harrys, afternoon at the 911 Memorial, Levaine Bakery for cookies, and Yankees game that night! It was a big day for Mary Blake because she had her first non family member baby-sitter. My friend Amy did great and a good time was had by all.
Saturday: Lunch at Dinosaur bbq (to celebrate G's birthday), walk through Harlem, Firefighter musuem (for Dad and G) in Soho and Street shopping for the girls in Soho, walk through Greenwich village and downtown area, park for MB, 16 Handles for icecream that night.
Sunday: Church at Redeemer, brunch at Cilantros, street fair in midtown (to visit the cheap smocking man who sells smocked dresses for $10) and time to say good-bye to G, Cat, and MB. Sunday night mom, dad, and I went back down to the Brazilian street fair and walked through Time Square (with the other million people who were in town and decided to do the same thing) dinner at AG Kitchen.
Monday: Brunch at Normas at the Parker Meridean Hotel to celebrate my birthday (a little early) and Tennis US Open!
Tuesday: Time to say good-bye to mom and dad and back to reality for me!
It was a very busy and fun few days! We dragged the cute little 10 month old everwhere and she did great. I really think she is a city girl deep down inside of her!
Hopefully it won't be another 4 years before we do it again.
Pictures to come soon!

I stumbled upon your blog as I was searching for smocked dresses. I have heard about the man who sells them at street fairs and was wondering if you have any of his info? I want to see if he does any of the holiday fairs in the city. Thanks!
