One year ago today my mom, sister and I had just gotten home from a weekend together at a womens conference. We had spent much of that weekend talking about suffereing, waiting, and desires. We had talked several times about the baby that Cat and Gary very much wanted.
One Year ago today Cat and Gary had no idea that that they would become parents on this day.
One year ago today a beautiful baby girl was brought into the world.
One year ago today a lady in a hospital in this country made most likely one of the most difficult decisions she would ever make.
Some people might wonder how anyone could ever give up their own baby. We might all wonder that. But for one reason or another she knew she could not care for this little girl in the way she deserved and giving her up was the best decision she could make for her baby at the time. And so she gave her to the nurses and asked for the baby to be put up for adoption.
At that time no one really knew what kind of future this little girl would have. Who would be her parents? What would her life look like? Would someone love and care for her?
Although no one knew, God did know. He knew this was the little girl for Catherine and Gary.
After much praying and waiting and hoping God in his perfect timing hand picked this little girl to be their daughter.
And so on October 31st, 2011 Mary Blake came home.
She came home to the family that God had planned for her long before she was knitted together in her birth mother's womb.
She came home to a mother and father who had prayed for her and loved her before they even knew her name.
She came HOME!
Happy 1st Birthday Mary Blake!
May you always know that you are a JOY and a BLESSING!
I am so glad I get to be your aunt "B" and prayerfully get to watch you grow up!
Happy 1st Day of Days!
May this only be the beginning of many celebrations of your sweet life.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father in Heaven.
