Randomness

This is a post with so much in it.   It is random I admit, but it's all the things that are on my mind tonight.

Let me start first with this article on crying in public.  A friend sent it to me last week and I just resonated with it.  I have had my share of crying in public moments.  Privacy is hard to come by in this city of millions and so in some ways New Yorkers are forced to experience and share emotions together.  We don't have car windows to hide behind, open space to sit alone, or large bedrooms to close the door to. We share a lot in this city and I think that tears are just part of it.  It's an interesting aspect of living life in NYC, but then again so much of living life here is just interesting.

Spring has FINALLY come in NYC and I am BEYOND thankful.  Summer has and probably will always be my favorite season, but I have come to appreciate Spring in a new way since moving to NYC and especially after the winter we have had.  On Tuesday I was in staff meeting at Redeemer and looked out our conference room window to this site

It was so hard to focus when I saw all this people in Herald Square enjoying the weather, but after staff meeting A2 and I were able to sneak out of the office for a bit to meet up with our friend Katherine in Bryant Park.  And since I am taking this photography class, I have been snapping pics like crazy....

And Speaking of photography.  I have been in this 9 week Photography class and have LOVED it.  Seriously been one of my favorite things I have done since moving to NYC. For multiple reason, this class has been so good for me!  But like all good things this too will soon come to an end.  In fact, this Saturday I have my big exposition.  We had to choose a theme, photograph it, and come up with 6 prints which displayed what we have learned in class.  We had our final critique this past week and my final prints have been ordered.  I will be displaying them for classmates and friends to see this Saturday.  The only good part is that there is a photography II class offered, which I am hoping to take this summer! I will share my final photos with you soon!
Moving on....

Thursday night I went to see Tyrone Wells with my roommates and a few others at City Winery.  I really love this venue and have really grown to love Tyrone's music.  And of course a few of us had to snap a pic with him before we left.
Ok so after staying out late on Thursday night, we had a early morning ahead of us.  Yes, we did wake up at 5:30 A.M. on Friday morning to watch the royal wedding.  And Yes we did have mimosas and "wedding cake" (magnolia's cupcakes) waiting for us in the living room.
Although it was hard to wake up, it was so fun to watch with the roomies.  I feel like the royal wedding is one of those events you will tell your kids about and remember watching.   It will be fun to hopefully one day tell my kids about waking up at the crack up dawn to watch it with my roommates in our cute little NYC apt.  Thanks LA for planning this little party.

It's been a beautiful and fun weekend in NYC filled with 2 bbqs, a late night walk with friends, a run along the Hudson, a street fair, lots of photography shooting, an afternoon in Central Park, lots of chill time, and great moments with friends.  Thankful for these weekends.

Ok I think I am done with all my random thoughts for tonight!
Goodnight!

Magnolia Cupcakes. YUM! I'm sad for William and Kate that they didn't have them at their wedding reception.
