I Surrender

I just returned home from a great week out of the city. I will share more on that later, but tonight as I spend time with the Lord the words of the below song continue to come to my heart.  I am praying these words tonight.

I lay it all down, for the sake of You my King 

I'm giving You my dreams, laying down my rights 
I'm giving up my pride, for the promise of new life*

I'm singing You this song, I'm waiting at the cross 
All the world holds dear, I count it all as loss

For the sake of knowing You, for the glory of Your name 
To know the lasting joy, even sharing in Your pain

And I surrender it all to you, all to You


Oh how hard it is to pray these words, but I really long to surrender to Jesus.  Tears roll down my cheeks tonight, specifically as I pray "i'm giving you my dreams..." Because I know ultimately I want the Lord's will for my life. And so I pray for Jesus to be near and that I really would daily surrender my life to the one who holds my life in the palm of His hands.
