Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend has come and gone and I can't believe that summer is really over.
It was a great weekend though full of lots of fun things!
Friday 3 of my friends and I road tripped it to the great State of Pennsylvania to attend the one and only Pennsylvania State Fair
I haven't been to a fair since I was kid.  It was so fun to step in to this world, but man was it a different world than New York City.  Sometimes I forget where I live until I step outside of it and jump in to the middle of normal America.  I do have to say 4 city girls at the state fair together was quite fun.  We definitely laughed a ton!

And we definitely pigged out on fair food.  First Stop: Cotton Candy

And we had to ride the swings
Ok so the REAL reason we were at the fair was for this band.
SUGARLAND!  Oh it was sooooo fun.  we stood in a pit of people and sang and danced our heart out!   Seriously such a fun concert!
So after driving back to the big apple I waited for my college friend Heather to arrive to the city from Dallas.  It was so fun having here for the weekend and we crammed a ton of city stuff in.  First stop for the weekend was a Turkish restaurant in the neighborhood
After a nice outdoor dinner we went to Cafe Lalo for desert before heading to Time Square. Can you find us in the mass of people?
For H's birthday I took her to see Sister Act on Broadway.  It was such a great show.  I would highly recommend it if you want to see a fun, family-friendly Broadway Show
On Sunday afternoon we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge
And hung out in Brooklyn Bridge Park.  And of course we had to get my all-time favorite ice cream at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory.  We also walked around Battery Park and went on a ferry ride to see the Statue of Liberty at night.
On Monday we went to brunch at another favorite, Alice's Tea Cup before walking around Central Park.
We ended the weekend with street shopping in SoHo and dinner at Lombardi's Pizzeria. Can you see Heather with the cute hat she bought off the street?
It was so fun to have an old friend here for the holiday weekend.  And now back to reality and work I go.
Thanks for visiting Heather!
