I have so many things going on and so much I would love to write about, but I must first post about Thanksgiving. It has always been my mom's dream to come to NYC for Thanksgiving and watch the Macy's Day Parade. Last Year I had the opportunity to watch the parade VIP from the Redeemer offices, but unfortunately this year they changed the parade route and for the first time in history it did not go down Broadway. Although the amazing view was greatly missed, my mom still had her dream come true. Just look at the excitement on her face while we waited for the parade to start.
Fortunately for us, a family I am close to graciously let my parents and I stay in their apt while they were away for Thanksgiving. And even better was the fact that their apt was 1/2 block from the parade route. We literally had to walk out the front door to see this famous parade.
Because we stood at the beginning of the parade route we were able to go back to the apt and watch most of the parade on tv. As cool as it is to watch it person I think it is still "prettier" on tv. I have to say though I am so thankful for two years in a row of seeing this magnificent parade from a few feet away
After the parade we had Thanksgiving dinner with about 20 of my friends. It was so fun to gather together at some friends apt and celebrate this special day.
I am thankful for so many things. It is often so easy for me to focus more on what I am unhappy about or discontent with. The Lord has reminded me recently how much I really do have to be thankful for. I am incredibly blessed!
More to come about Thanksgiving week..
