Are you ready for lots of pictures? I must share about last weekend in the Poconos at this beautiful Resort.
First let me tell you that we woke up Friday morning to this....
A LOT of snow indeed(and imagine me walking down that sidewalk with my luggage. It was glamorous...NOT) but that did not stop the Family Director at Redeemer, his family, and myself from piling into a jeep and jetting the city. This little bit of snow was not going to stop us. We were so excited because....
Our ending location was here.
And I was going to get to spend 2 lovely nights in these beautiful and cozy and cottages
For this was the weekend of the Redeemer Family Retreat!
Our team worked on this retreat for many weeks prior to make it just perfect for some of our wonderful families at Redeemer. What a great place to spend a weekend away from the city. Our families were able to spend time in community, eat delicious food, stay in a beautiful lodge, hear challenging talks from one of our pastors, worship together, and play play play! And I had a blast as well. It was so fun to get to spend the weekend with some really cute kids!
And we got to pretend that we were kids again too! In the picture above one of the little boys and I had a great time making snow angels. The snow was so soft and so beautiful! And in the picture below, well lets just say, we might have gone down the golf course hill just a few times on our sleds, screaming and laughing and acting like we were 13 again!
AND one of the best parts of the weekend was that we needed a few volunteers to go with us to help with all the little kiddos. SO Amy and I just asked a few girls in our fellowship group to go with us. How great it is to be able to go on a work retreat with 6 of your friends!
The Children's Ministry Staff Team (minus our fearless boss)
It's a tough life to have to spend your weekend here, but somebody's got to do it!
On our way home I tried to capture this picture as we drove toward the city. It didn't really come out. I had a five year old pulling on me as I was trying to take it. haha! But every time I see the city from a distance I still have this moment where I can't believe I live here. This is my home. It's so big, and so crowded, and so loud, but it's my home. It really is a place like no other.
so that was a little taste of my weekend.
Be back soon...
