So Two days after Emily left another sorority sister came to the city. It was so fun to have Karen here as well as her cousin Katie. They were only here for 2 days, but they managed to cram in as much of the city as they could. It was both of their first times in the city, so they were excited about everything. The weather was warm and sunny which was such a nice change from what it has been. We had a blast together and laughed a lot.
I took them to Cafe Lalo for desert one night. This is the place where the rose scene in "You've Got Mail" is filmed. It is such a fun cafe with great food! It is definitely an upper west side hotspot and lucky for me it's on my block.
We had to do the Time Square at night thing.
We had so much fun hanging out.
Look at all the green....Yes we were green for St Patty's day along with all the other tourist in the city. Most New Yorkers still did the black thing(New Yorkers don't seem to be a big fan of color. haha), but around midtown it was a sea of green. I just didn't want to be pinched.:-)
I still had to work(the job thing still has to happen when company is in town. blah!) but Karen and Katie went strong while I was away. I did get to get off a little early to meet up with them at the St Patty's parade. Karen snapped the picture below when we were trying to figure out how to cross the street where the parade was going on. Have no fear, we managed to do it even if we did have to climb under some NYPD barriers.
It was so fun to have Karen here and show her my life. Thanks Karen for coming!
After Karen left the whirlwind of March continued on. I hopped on a plane the day after they left and headed south to Alabama to surprise my dad for his 60th birthday. We threw him a big surprise party this past weekend as well as threw in a few more surprises. I arrived back to NYC yesterday and will be posting pictures of weekend soon. And now that I am back, another college friend, Melissa, is flying in tomorrow to spend 5 days with me. Have I mentioned that my life is just a little bit busy right now?
Be back soon...
