On Friday we spent the day at the annual arts and crafts festival that takes place in Fairhope every year. This is great event with all types of vendors. The weather was beautiful so it was fun to be outside all day. We managed to browse all the cute Fairhope shops as well.
The guys trailed behind us most of the day and managed to find some benches throughout the day:-) We ran in to a lot of familiar faces as well which was fun.
On Friday night we had a "fake" birthday party for my dad. He thought this was his birthday party It was a birthday party, just not the big one! We had dinner with friends and Mrs. Barnes got a delicious cake! You can see in the picture below dad was leading in his birthday song.
It was fun to celebrate with old friends. I didn't get pictures of everyone, but wanted to post a couple.
On saturday we had lunch at a seafood restaurant before the guys played golf and we got ready for the party. It was another beautiful day to be outside. Coming from a long winter in NYC I was loving a weekend of warmer weather!
For Dad's birthday, I made a book of his life. I gathered pictures from his childhood, ministry years, marriage, our family, etc and put them in a photo book. It was a lot of work in the process, but totally worth it. He loved it and it is a great keepsake for him and our family! I hope this book will be passed down through generations of our family.
Be back soon with more of the weekend....
