The Promises of God

I wish I didn't struggle to trust in God's word...but I do.
I wish my life did not get so caught up with the cares of the world...but I let it.
I wish my heart was not so rotten...but it is.

I am struggling so much to rest in the word of God and trust him with my life.
It is easy to say I know He is in Control, but it is hard to really believe.
He has a plan for me....He is Good....He knows what is best...and on and on.
I have to continue to say these things to myself.
I have to continue to engulf myself in God's word.

I can have sweet time with the Lord in the morning,
but by lunchtime I am doubting, I am discontent, I am fearful.
I know God's word is true...therefore his promises are true.
I am fighting to believe the promises of God.  I am struggling...but I am fighting.

I am tired, I am weary, but I know I am not forgotten.
God is with me....God is for me.... This I know!
I continue to tell myself these things each day,
but some days it is harder to believe than others.
Somedays feel longer than others,
So I pray, and I pray, and I pray,
and I cling, and I trust, and I hope.

In my tiny place of refuge I write out these verses.
because I need them.. I need them even when I struggle to believe them.
They are food for my soul.  They are the promises of God.
They are the promises from God For Bethany.
I am thankful for these promises.

Behold my servant, who I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights.
 Isaiah 42:1

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.
 Isaiah 26:3-4

For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm trusting in the Lord.
Psalm 112: 6-7

And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
 Psalm 9:10

The Lord is exalted, for he dwells on high, he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness, and he will be the stability of your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is Zion's treasure.
Isaiah 33:5-6

He knows what He is doing with me, and when He has tested me, I will come forth as pure Gold.
Job 33:10

I have called you by name, you are mine.
Isaiah 43:1b

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.  Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart.
Jeremiah 29:11-13

The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.
Psalm 138:8

O Lord, all my longing is before you; my sighing is not hidden from you.
Psalm 38:9

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4

Commit your way to the Lord, trust in him, and he will act.
Psalm 37: 5

The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand.  I have been young and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread. He is ever lending generously, and his children become a blessing.
Psalm 37:23-26

The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts and I am helped.
Psalm 28:7

wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord.
Psalm 27:14

Likewise the spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groaning too deep for words.
Romans 8:26

Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear.
Isaiah 65:24

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
Matthew 10: 29-31

And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them.
Isaiah 42:16

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.  Matthew 6:33
