Weekend in Review....

Saturday morning I woke up bright and early to accompany the kids from the Leadership Academy to go the Madam Tussauds Museum.  It wasn't great or anything but the kids enjoyed it.  When I was in 8th grade my family made a trip to Europe and we went to Madam Tussauds over there.  My dad took the exact same picture of me with the Beatles.  I want to find it and compare!  My guess is the Beatles look the same, but I might have changed just a little:-)
After a morning at the museum I headed home and picked up these beautiful flowers at the Bodega
Because..... my mom flew up for the weekend!  It was a last minute trip (Thank you Delta fare specials!), but perfect timing for Mother's Day!  I was so thankful she could come up.  On Sunday I woke early and fixed breakfast for her.  After church (work for me) we went to Central Park for the Family Ministry Spring Fling!
Due to super cold May temps no one really showed up, but here are two of the cute girls who did brave the windy weather

Some of the Children's Ministry Staff and volunteers

We walked through the park to get home and stopped at one of my favorite places, the Reservoir, to take some pictures
I love running around this track and seeing the beautiful skyline over the water.
After the park we went to church and heard TK talk about Kindness (He is doing a series on the signs of the Holy Spirit and it is amazing!) To end the day I took my mom to  dinner at a yummy Mexican Restaurant that looks out over Lincoln Center. It was great way to end a busy day!
I love Lincoln Center!

My mom left today after a great few days!  As my roommate said earlier today, "it's just comforting to have a mom presence in our apartment!"  Haha I couldn't say it better!   I am thankful I got to spend the actual day of Mother's Day with my mom!  She is a great mother and I hope and pray one day I can take what I have learned from her and share it with my own children!
Thanks Mom for coming and thanks for being a wonderful mother!!!!

It was an amazing weekend. Thanks for all you did to make it so special. It is good for me to be in your apartment every once and awhile to experience you life and ministry there. I am so proud of you and love you much.
