One of my best friends in the world, Colette and her husband Jonathan hit up the big apple this past weekend. It was so fun to have them here with me and to show them my life here. we tried to make the most of their time here and saw so much of the city!
One of the first stops when they arrived was a hot dog stand in Central Park. This was actually the first of MANY hotdogs Jonathan ate while in the apple.
The Tree at Rockefeller Center was beautiful as always
Time Square was a hopping place. I'm not sure why everyone and their mom likes Time Square, but it was crazy. I guess we were one of the crazies there on Saturday night
Sunday was Redeemer's special Lessons and Carols services. This service is AMAZING and so worshipful. Tim Keller rocked the house with a sermon on the incarnate of Jesus. I'm so glad they were here to worship with me. After church we went to one of my all-time favorite spots in the city, Cafe Lalo, and had dinner and desert.
Neil (pictured below) along with Amy (not pictured) went with us. I LOVE the atmosphere of this place and since it's on my street I go here quite often.
I took them to Macy's on Monday to see the famous Christmas windows. Notice the "Arctic Fox" around my neck. My friend gave me this super warm jacket (which I love), but Colette nicknamed the fur the "arctic fox" we had many laughs over this fox all weekend.
I took Colette to Dylan's Candy bar, because whats a visit to NYC without some really expensive candy.:-)
And of course we had to go to Serendipity's for a Frozen Hot Chocolate.
Monday night we we went to the Holiday Market at Columbus Circle. I love these markets around the city even though I rarely buy anything. Christmas Carolers were singing while we were out and tiny white snowflakes begin to fall on us. It was so pretty and magical!
We had to hit up the Seinfeld Restaurant before they left. I think we would all agree that the food is not that great, but it was fun to go and experience the famous restaurant that is featured in every episode of Seinfeld
It was so fun to have C and J with me for a few days. We ate lots of great food (Jonathan LOVES to eat. haha) walked all over the city, went to many of my favorite spots, and had fun catching up.
I am so thankful for their friendship and the role that Colette has played in my life these past 10 years. We truly have walked through so much together. She is one of the few friends I have who really knows me and gets me. I miss her like crazy now that I live up here, but I am so thankful she was able to visit.
Thank you Colette and Jonathan for coming to see me!!!
