Looking Back....Looking Ahead

As it is already December and 2010 is quickly coming to a close, we took some time in Fellowship Group this past week to begin the process of evaluating 2010 and planning for 2011.  Amy gave us some great questions to begin thinking through.

Looking BACK

  • What have I done well this year?
  • What have I done poorly this year?
  • Who have I gotten to know?
  • What verse has had an impact on me?
  • Who has been most influential in my life this year?
  • Who have I influenced?
  • What am I proud of?
  • What would I have done differently?
  • Is there someone I need to have a conversation with?
  • What am I thankful for?
  • What has God done in and through me?
  • What have been my priorities
Areas to think through: Prayer, evangelism, community/fellowship, Word

Looking AHEAD
  • What are your passions
  • What are your values
  • What is your purpose
  • Who would you like a deeper relationship with? How can I make this happen?
  • Is there something I would like to learn?
  • Is there someone who has been in my situation that I can learn from?
  • How is my health?
  • What brings me joy? Am I doing this?
  • Where do I serve?
  • Am I using my gifts for Christ?
  • What are my priorities for 2011?
  • What do I want to achieve?
It was great for me to begin journaling through these questions, but being the slow processor that I am I decided this is going to take me awhile.  Since I will be spending many many hours over the holidays on airplanes and in airports I think I will save all these great journaling questions for that time.  And then in January we are going to dive into more of these questions as a group.  I'm pumped!

Anyone who listens to the word, but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into his perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it - he will be blessed in what he does.
James 1:23-25

P.S.  Feel free to take these questions and use them for yourself. They will definitely make you think:-)
