I'm back from Thanksgiving! I've actually been home for several days, but haven't gotten around to the blog. I thought for this weeks top ten I would include pictures from my week away.
Top Ten from the Mountains....
I spent lots of time with my family!
Hung out with my favorite dog
Spent lots of time looking at the beautiful mountain view from my parents house
And enjoyed a few beautiful sunsets
Ate Thanksgiving dinner at home with the family
Spread my stuff out everywhere. This picture may make no sense to non NYers but if I were to spread my stuff out in my tiny apt I literally would not be able to walk in my bedroom. It was so nice to dump my bag of clothes on the floor and still have PLENTY of room! It's the little things... :-)
AND had a huge countertop and mirror to use for getting ready in my bathroom. Yet another thing I don't have in my tiny apt. (In NYC I like to call my floor in front of my full length mirror my vanity table) This below was nice...
My mom finished my sorority t shirt quilt from college for me! It was like a walk down memory lane as I looked at all the t shirts on the quilt and thought of my oh so fun days as a Phi Mu. I can't believe it's been 5 years since those days of my life have ended
I went with my mom to buy her monogram and embroidery machine. (my dad's birthday present to my mom!) She is sooooo excited and I have to say that my sister and I am too! I have a feeling this machine will get lots of use!
And finally.... we went as a family to the Grove Park Inn in Asheville to see the very famous Gingerbread display. They were incredible as always. You can catch the winners on Good Morning America Dec 24th.
It was a very restful Thanksgiving week with lots of family time, television watching, book reading, hiking, eating, shopping, and relaxing!
I have to be honest and say that this Thanksgiving I had a hard time having a heart of Thanksgiving, but I know that The Lord has given me soooo much. I am especially thankful right now to be a child of God and to know that He has called me His own. Thats a big deal and I don't want to take that for granted!
And now the busy and fun holiday season begins....
