Those New York Moments

I started this blog has a way to share about my life in New York City.  Sometimes I forget to share about my daily life in the city mainly because I don't think it is really that exciting.  I wake-up, go to the gym, go to work, spend time with friends, etc etc etc.  But every now and then I still have those moments where I look around and think oh yeah I live in a really exciting and famous city!  I have had several of those what I like to call "New York moments"  over the past few weeks. I thought I would share a few on the blog.
You know you live in New York City when you have these moments...
  • You are walking down Park Ave and begin praying for what you think are victims of a serious car accident, but then feel silly because you suddenly realize that they are only filming a movie.
  • You watch MIracle on 34th Street with friends for the first time since moving to the city and see your neighborhood in one of the first scenes of this very famous movie.
  • You walk home from work through Central Park and walk for several minutes behind a man greatly disguised but you think you recognize.  You think to yourself "where do I know him from?"   OH wait.....that's Jack Nicholson
  • You go ice skating in Bryant Park with your staff team as part of your Christmas party and you see Stephen Baldwin picking up a pair of skates at the skate rental counter to enjoy an afternoon at the rink.
  • You read on the internet that Matt Damon is filming a movie a block away from your apt
  • You accidentally walk through a movie scene when crossing the street. oops!
  • You are getting your hair cut and hear the guy sitting in the chair across from you tell the hairdresser that he needs to get his hair cut off for a part he is playing for a new show on Fox
  • You have people tell you a lot that it is their dream to visit NYC at Christmas time and you get to enjoy it every day!
I want to be thankful for this crazy and fun city that I live in.  Just so you know I could also make a list of New York Moments that are not nearly that glamorous. Like.... you know you live in NYC when you go to buy groceries, it begins to pour down rain, and you have to walk 10 blocks in the rain (soaking wet) to get to your apt. Now that is super glamorous.:-)

I do have to say that I am loving the Christmas season in the city!  It's so magical.  AND my sweet friend Colette from college and her husband Jonathan are coming up for a few days to get a taste of it!  AND we have Birthday Party for Jesus this weekend  One of my favorite events we do as a Children's Ministry team.  It's going to be a very Merry Christmas weekend and I can not wait!!
