Today was the Day!

It was an early morning at West 83rd as we launched Redeemer west today with the opening of the first Redeemer building.
The last few months have been a lot of work for many on staff on at Redeemer, but I think we would all say there was so much joy today as God's people entered this house of worship
I teared up when the nursery staff saw their classrooms.  These sweet ladies have been so patient as we "pack and unpack" our space week after week.  It has not been easy, but now we have our own space...a rare gift for New Yorkers!   There was so much joy in all of our hearts today as we prepared for the children!
And then I teared up again when I watched one of our volunteers teach some sweet 3 year olds about the provision of God.  I have done my fair share of complaining as we worked endlessly to get these classrooms ready, BUT then to see these children be taught about the Lord in such a rich way today in these colorful classrooms made it all worth it!
West 83rd is still incomplete and "bare" in many ways, but when you fill God's house with his people it comes alive in a new and beautiful way.
The time of worship was full of much praise
TK (along with some of the west side elders, deacons, and deaconesses)  did a special time of dedication.  This building has been in the works for many years.  God is at work in New York City and I am excited to see how He uses this building for his Glory.
We had a special celebration after each service with lots of cake!
It was a long day with multiple services and lots of children, but the Lord provided abundantly for us and it really could not have gone smoother.
So thankful for the many many staff and volunteers who served endlessly in Children's Ministry to help make this day a special day for our families!
