Last night I went to see
The Best Man on Broadway. It was an interesting show about 2 candidates running for president in 1960. The thing that won me was the all star cast. James Earl Jones, John Larroquette, Candice Bergen, Erik McCormack, and Angela Lansbury. Such great acting right before my eyes. My favorite was seeing Angela Lansbury. She looked so elegant and I just loves the way she talks! My grandmother was a huge Angela Lansbury fan. She watched "Murder She Wrote" weekly. When I was a little girl she used to tape episodes of it and then we would watch them together when I would visit. I think I loved the show maybe as much as she did. It was a special thing we did together. Now that I think of it, it's kind of funny that I was such a fan at such a young age! I wished more than anything that I could have called my grandmother last night and told her that I was seeing Angela Lansbury on stage. She would have been so excited! I would have told her that she still looked beautiful and that her acting was just as phenominal!
It was a powerful show and I am thankful I got to see it!
Today was a rare day for me......a day where I had absolutely nothing scheduled on my calendar for day or night. I looked at may calendar this morning to see when the last day was that this was the case and I literally could not find one since before I went to South Africa in November. It was so nice to be able to do what I wanted to do! I felt like It was an incrdibly restful, yet productive day.
I......
- Stayed in bed until noon
- watched old episodes of Designing Women
- mailed out invitations for a brunch I'm hosting
- browsed through a stationary store on my block that I really like
- went to the grocery store/fruit stand
- took headshots for a friend
- had a long quiet time
- cooked dinner
- watched a movie
- edited photos
I need to remember that days like today are good. I need them every now and then.
Now I'm ready to spring forward and gear up for a long/exciting day at W83rd Ministry Center tomorrow!
