Christmas in the City

I mentioned in my last couple posts that my mom was in town for the weekend a couple weeks ago.  She was amazing help with Birthday Party for Jesus and Lindsay Ann's shower!

After a very busy weekend with no down town, we took the last day she was in the city to enjoy a New York Christmas!

This is my 5th Christmas in the city and I still love it! I say this every year, but New York City is magical at Christmas.  The Christmas tree stands, the lights, Rockefeller Center, the Christmas markets, the carolers, the decor.  It just never gets old!
Even with the million tourist and the extra crowded streets I still love it!

My mom hung out at Rockefeller Center while I worked some at my office.  When I walked up to meet her I saw the tree for the first time this year. Seeing the tree for the first time each year is always one of my favorite moments!  It was as beautiful as ever this year!
Other than going to Rockefeller Center my mom really wanted to see window displays, so window displays we saw!  We went to Macy's, Lord and Taylors, and Saks. They were all very different, but all great!  Terrible glare, but this was in front of Lord and Taylor
My office is right next to Macy's.  I'll admit I do get tired of some of the tourism craziness I face everyday, but I love the Christmas spirit that is all around!

One of the window displays was Central Park!
We also managed to do some Christmas shopping at one of the Christmas markets and eat at our traditional place, Alice's Tea Cup (it wouldn't be a trip with my mom if we didn't eat at Alice's)
Although my mom came mainly to help me and do "normal" life with me, it was fun to be a tourist for a day and enjoy Christmas in the City.

Thanks Moms for coming and for all your help!!!!
