From the Beginning to the End

Kelli Mayfield was the first person I really processed my desire to move to NYC with.  She was the person who connected me to my old boss who hired me at Redeemer. And she was the one who went with me when I flew to NYC to interview and think about if this place could really be my home.  She walked through the whole process with me, she prayed with me, she dreamed with me. I remember on my interview trip walking through Central Park and saying to her, "I think this is it. I think i'm going to be moving here".  I love that she was with me through it all and then our friendship only grew during my years in NYC and her years in St Louis and Richmond.  I love my friendship with Kelli and the way she has committed herself to my life through miles a part.  The girl also loves NYC and was always eager to come visit me throughout my years there.  Needless to say that when she find out I was moving we knew we needed to plan one last trip for her to come to visit.  Although it wasn't necessarily planned like this it worked out that she was my last visitor to come to NYC before I moved.  Looking back on it I love the significance of this.  I love that she was the first person to go with me and the last person to come see me.  She was such a big part of starting and closing and my chapter in this great city.
As we walked around the city that last weekend we reminisced about my time there, that first weekend we came up together, the visits she had there, and beginning of a new chapter. We also managed to do lots of shopping and eating!

I am so incredibly thankful for my friendship with Kelli and for our amazing last weekend together in the city!
