Last week I jetted the city and spent 8 days in the beautiful mountains of NC at Camp Greystone. It was a great week spent with a sweet family from Redeemer who I am incredibly close too. They spend a month volunteering at the camp every summer and asked me to come spend a week with them, to help with the girls and see their life there!
I soaked up every minute in the middle of beautiful creation. It was a week full of resting, catching up on sleep, spending much needed time with the Lord, reading, running, eating great food, and of course lots and lots of quality time with these 3 munchkins
We went to dog camp and played with cute puppies
I think if I ever need a really good laugh I will just think back on dog camp. I'm not sure there is anything funnier than watching a 2 year old and 4 year old try to walk and train puppies. I'm not sure if it was funnier to watch H drag a lazy dachshund with all her little 4 year old might or watch M give commands to a dog who had absolutely know idea what she was saying.
We spent time fishing off the dock
Can I just say that I don't think I have ever been fishing before in my life? This did not worry me though b/c in my head a 4 year old would never catch a fish. We were just out there for the fun of it....or so i thought. I might have panicked just a smidge when she told me something had grabbed on to her hook. And then of course she looked to me the responsible adult scaredy cat to take the little fish off the hook and throw it back in the lake for her. No way was I touching that slimy thing even if she did name it "Cutie" b/c it was just so cute. Thankfully Mr. Fishing teacher came over and offered to touch the squrimy thing. whew! I'm not sure fishing is for me, but was so sweet to see the girls get soooooo excited about the great accomplishment of catching a fish!
We took lots of walks around the camp.
We spent lots of time on the swings.
we might have left M unattended for 2 minutes in scrapbooking class. Probably not the best idea. She's a quick one with a magic marker
We spent lots of time cooling off in the water
We spent every afternoon in the swimming pool watching the girls show off their mad swimming skills
We might have once again left the 2 year unattended for .5 seconds. For some reason she thought it was a great idea to take a whole box of skittles and put them in the swimming pool
It was oh so nice to have a break from my life here in the city and so incredibly hard to come back to the concrete jungle.
I'm so thankful for the Taylor family and their investment in my life. It was a great week away with the family and such sweet time with 3 of my favorite little girls.
