from 10 days of vacation in the mountain with my family! It was a great week enjoying the parents mountains house, reading, resting, boating/tubing/skiing on Lake Keowee, hiking to Lake Jocassee, tubing the French Broad, eating at lots of good restaurants, and just enjoying a break from regular life!
But now I'm back in the apple and real life begins again. I've spent 5 hours replying to work e-mails (you know b/c I tried to forget I even had a work e-mail account while I was away) and working on a TO DO list at work. And now official craziness begins. Fall is by far our craziest season in Children's Ministry and then you add decentralizing into 4 congregations and building a building in to the mix and well that is just all kinds of fun. Good thing I love my job!
It's always so hard to come back from vacation......always! But people tell you that New York City gets in your blood and becomes a part of you.......and well I think I've seen that it really has gotten in there with me. Because I missed this place. I missed the noise and the craziness. I felt such a comfort walking down Broadway last night after getting home. There's an energy here that you just can't anywhere else. I always say I don't think I'll be here forever, but at least I know that if/when I do leave it will always be a part of who I am. I'm thankful for that.
I'm also thankful for vacations where I can gain some of my sanity back.
