Good-bye 2R
July 1 three years ago I moved to NYC. August 1 three years ago I got my first NYC apt. I prayed for this apt for many months prior knowing that finding a place to live in this city would be one of my greatest challenges. God provided the perfect place for me and that tiny place of refuge was mine for 3 years. I had 2 different roommates (plus 1 who sub-letted for 4 months) As you probably remember if you read this blog of mine at all, I did move apts 4 months ago. Even though I moved, my first apt was still mine in many ways. My name was on the lease, most of my furniture/stuff was there and my roommate still lived there. I was back and forth multiple times for various reasons. And then yesterday came. Yesterday was when I really said good-bye. I got the very last of my stuff out (after a rather stressful moving day 4 days prior), turned in my keys, and said good-bye. It was weird. I mean yes I had already officially moved, but that little place on Columbus Ave was still my apt. I have so many great memories from that apt and it was my first real home here. It was a little sad to leave one last time knowing the locks will be changed and I won't be going back. After saying good-bye to my place, my roommate from that apt, Joanna, and I met for dinner downstairs at one of our favorite neighborhood spots! It was great to sit outside on our block and catch up! I am so incredibly thankful for the roommates God provided for me at that apt and for my time there! And now I am all officially moved in to my new apt with all my furniture and belongings. But of course changes have happened here as well! And so I will share in the next post.....
