A Few Thoughts and Pictures

I am going to get back to the Cape Town blogging, but i'm pausing for this post.  I have gotten in such a habbit of this blog being my journal and scrapbook that I don't want to leave out anything, so I am going to blog this.

9A hosted a Christmas Party Saturday night.  It was such a fun night with a revolving door of people! I love how parties can bring together so many different people who you don't get to see all the time.  With 4 roommates and 4 (mostly) different groups of friends, the apt was full!
I didn't take a single picture while the actual party was going on, but we did snap a few roommate shots before people arrived.  I love living and hosting parties with these 3!

and this is completely random, but awhile ago I posted pictures of my room. I was still in the decorating process at the time and so I thought I would post some updated pics!
and you might remember the green piece of furniture from this post

And the living room before the party!  I think Christmas trees are just the best.

Christmas time is such a busy season and it goes by so quickly!
Sometimes I wish I could soak it all in a little bit more.
on Saturday I wrapped gifts at HFNY His Toy Store.  It is basically a free toy store set up in different locations around the city in neighborhoods of great need where parents can come get toys for their children for Christmas. I know it is more blessed to give than to receive, but I experienced it again on Saturday.  I loved the joy and excitment on the faces of many of the parents as they picked out brand new toys for their children.  It was one of my top 5 favorite things I have done since moving to this city.

And lastly, The Lord reminded me of this sermon by TK today.
Christmas means God Understands.  Oh how I love that.  I really needed the reminder this weekend as I struggle to believe God really does know me and that I really am cared for.
In a city of many jewish and people who don't believe in Jesus Christ, I am thankful to celebrate Christmas and the real meaning of this holiday
