What I did this week...

Monday a sweet family in our Children's Ministry at Redeemer who both work on Broadway gave me tickets and a backstage tour to see Matthew Broderick star in "Nice Work if You Can Get It".
It was such a fun show and really cool to get to go backstage, see all the "behind the scenes stuff" and the the people in the show! There are definitely some fun perks to doing life and ministry in NYC:-)

Tuesday was the last big combined group of our sister groups before the summer schedule.  I led the girls through a time of evaluation and reflections and it was a sweet time together.  You might remember me blogging about our group's multiplication here. It's been so incredibly neat to see the Lord's faithfulness with these 2 groups.  I love that mulitplication is happening in this city and that disciples of Jesus are being raised up.

Wednesday I finished the book "Wonder"  This book is straight up amazing.  It's actually a kid's book, but great for adults as well.  It's the story of a little boy who is born with a sverely deformed face who goes to school for the first time in 5th grade.  I feel like we could all learn from this story and be blessed and challenged! It's a graeat summer read.
Thursday was HFNY awesome volunteer celebration.  It was mexican fiesta themed and a great night of celebrating the Lord's work through this incredible ministry! If you live in NYC you should definitely get involved!
Friday i hung out with these 2 crazies + their little sister. They always make me laugh and remind me of the little joys in life!

Saturday one of my friends and I rented bikes and rode around Manhattan. It was a beautiful day and a perfect way to spend a Saturday

Sunday was a 12 hour work day for me, but I did sneak away for a picnic in Central Park with some friends. Sheep's Meadow is the place to be on a pretty day in the city.  It was a sea of people against the city skyline.

It was a week of long work days, busy evenings, and a fun weekend.

Here's to a new week....
