I posted pictures of my new bedroom a few weeks ago HERE, but I wanted to post another pic now that my curtains are hung. I LOVE these curtains and am so thankful that my mom made them for me.
So today I made a trip to one of my favorite stores.....The Container Store. It's not the cheapest store, but they have amazing stuff and the service is awesome! After stocking up on goods to organize my tiny bedroom, I schlepped it all home in the rain(which was so not fun). I have always been an organized person, but moving to NYC and living in a tiny bedroom has made me even more of one.
So today was operation switch out my winter/summer clothes and do a bit of re-organizing. I didn't think to take before shots, but here are a few of the finished product.
All my summer clothes hung in my teeny tiny closet.
All my bathroom stuff organized into baskets
All my stuff that was crammed in my butler's pantry I organized into baskets and containers.
So look at the cute baskets I bought at the Container Store? I like them so much I think I might need to go back and buy more! As much as I love organizing, I love organizing in cute containers even more!
I finally replaced my college laundry basket with a new one to put in my closet. As much as I loved the cute laundry bag that my mom made me with my name monogrammed on it, it was time for a new one! I also decided to put shelving paper on my closet floor. I like it much better than the old, dirty floor showing!
And now my shoe storage. I haven't found a great place to store my shoes, so this is the best I could do. I put scented shelving paper down and then organized as best as I could.
Although I think it looks pretty nice, I'm not sure how long it will actually stay like this. I have a feeling eventually it will just be a pile of shoes!
While i was organizing, I decided to do a little file organizing (boring i know, but totally necessary) I thought at least if I had to organize my files, I would buy cute color folders and make it pretty!
And now I feel a little better about my room. I am sure I will get to the point where I will feel the need to once again re-organize, but for now it feels nice!
I have a few more decorating projects I want to do in my bedroom and then I think I will be done!!
